The Department for Education (formerly the Department for Children, Schools and Families) is the government department responsible for making England the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up, including making children and young people happy and healthy, keeping them safe and sound and giving them top class education.

Project
Take One Productions was commissioned to produce a number of videos to explain and promote the Department's new Parent Know How strategy. We conceived, planned and developed programmes that were filmed and produced in high definition format for use at the Parent Know How Showcase event at Thames Television Studios.

The central video was shot as a stylish, presenter led, cab-hopping journey across London with a presenter interviewing a variety of city based service providers being funded under the new government scheme.

Animated 'video-grids' were produced and shown to the audience to introduce the various sections of the conference. The grids featured a selection of filmed responses from the general public voicing their experiences on accessing information and support on family matters.

The Parent Know How Showcase was considered a major success by the Department, providers and stakeholders. Delegates considered it a highly effective way to unveil new services and engage different groups.

All of the media collateral created for the event was distributed on a USB stick to all providers and stakeholders to promote the range of services available. The memory stick contained a 'highlights' video of the conference, the animated 'grid' videos, the presenter led programme, brochures and the event programme. This proved to be a successful and effective way of outputting the department's message.
