The Teacher Support Network
Profile
Teacher Support Network provides professional and personal support to teachers
and lecturers in England. Their services are developed in response to the changing
political and educational scene in order to meet the needs of the teachers as
effectively as possible.
Project
We were asked to produce a three-minute programme on DVD to be shown at a large
conference for teachers. We also produced a CD containing sound bites for radio
stations and a video news release for television. The video was to launch and
promote a new website that teachers could access for information and counselling
when they were experiencing difficulties. This website service is available
to teachers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it can be accessed from the comfort
of their own home. Before the website teachers used a telephone help line but
it was not always easy or convenient to call during the working day.
Teacher Support Network Feedback
"Take One were very accommodating. We had a short time span for the
project – just three weeks - and we were not sure that an outside agency could
produce a DVD in time. Take One came up with many great cost-cutting ideas,
which really helped, as we are a charity. For example, to cut out the need for
a studio, they filmed in our office, which was great. They were really professional.
Even on the day of filming we were tweaking the script. Arabella Weir was the
presenter and she also wanted to make changes. Take One were really accommodating
about all of this. The Chief Executive and the whole team were delighted with
the finished product. The CD has been a really useful explanatory tool that
shows how the Teacher Support Network works. We have sent a copy of it to all
our stakeholders. Should the opportunity arise, we would certainly work with
Take One Productions again."
Many thanks to The Teacher Support Network for providing this feedback.
